Knit, Mingle & Tea

Join us for an evening of knitting, creativity, and conversation at Morning Lavender Café, Solana Beach. (Ages 18+ welcome)

Event Details: Looking for a fun way to unwind and get creative? Come knit with us! You'll learn how to make your own chunky knit scarf—no experience necessary. We’ll provide everything you need, including knitting needles and soft yarn in beautiful colors.

Our instructor will walk you through each step, so whether you’re a total beginner or just brushing up on your skills, you’ll be in good hands.

While you knit, sip on a delicious tea or coffee (I drink is included with your ticket!) and enjoy great conversation with fellow makers in the café’s dreamy, relaxing setting.

What’s Included:

-All materials to make your own chunky knit scarf

-Step-by-step instruction (perfect for beginners!)

-One drink of your choice from Morning Lavender Café

-A warm, welcoming atmosphere for mingling and making new friends

Bring a friend or come solo—either way, you’ll leave with something cozy and handmade, and maybe even a few new connections.

About the Instructor

Tanya Alpert is a designer, artist, and author with a lifelong passion for knitwear. Her original designs have been featured in several knitwear publications, and in 2009, Random House published her own collection, Haiku Knits.

Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Tanya began knitting and crocheting in early childhood. Though she formally studied fine arts and product design, she found her true joy has always been creating her own knitwear.

After moving to the U.S. in 1988, she worked as a commercial artist and graphic designer before shifting her focus to what she loves most—designing knitwear and sharing her skills through teaching.
