Kick off the holiday season with a flavorful celebration! Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, in collaboration with the Caribbean Professionals Network and a lineup of talented South Florida bakers, invites you to indulge in the fourth annual Rum Cake and Caribbean Black Cake Fest on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m at Volunteer Park Community Center, 12050 West Sunrise Boulevard Plantation, FL 33323.

Savor the rich, time-honored flavors of the Caribbean as cake makers serve up samples of traditional rum cake and the beloved black cake—a dark, spiced fruitcake cherished across English-speaking Caribbean islands.

This festive gathering starts at $20 for early bird, $25 for pre-sold tickets, with a $30 cost at the door. Guests will enjoy:

  • Delectable cakes on sale
  • Exclusive curated Rum Room experience (pre-sold only, 21+), available at 2:15 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:15 p.m.

  • Holiday beverages for sampling and purchase
  • Traditional performances from across Caribbean cultures
  • Caribbean holiday music in the air

Bakers in attendance represent countries including but not limited to:

Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Virgin Islands, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Island Society for the Promotion of Artistic and Cultural Education (Island SPACE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of arts, culture, history, and educational initiatives that represent the Caribbean region, in South Florida and the broader diaspora. The public is invited to visit the Caribbean museum Thursdays through Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. General museum entry is $15 per adult and $7 per child.
