Knitting is self-care time, a creative practice, and an opportunity for meditation...plus it's fun! Gather around the table to learn one of the ancient fiber arts. We will learn the knit stitch and work on a stitch marker holder as your first project, with instruction on how to start a scarf as your second project. After the class, sign up for our free Friday Stitch Nights to deepen your practice.

Materials: This class comes with a beginner's knitting kit, which includes:

  • Size US5 interchangeable needles and cables
  • Yarn needles and case
  • Tillie yarn
  • Organic cotton project bag

Instructor Bio

Rachel is the owner of Yarning Fiber Arts. She taught herself how to knit in 2001 and has averaged several hours of knitting every day since 2018. Though she is accomplished in many kinds of knitting, her favorite is lace shawls--the more intricate, the better! Knitting is a spiritual practice for her and has brought her infinite peace and joy.
