Take the fear out of off-camera flash and studio lighting in this 3-hour hands-on workshop

This workshop will include an overview of lights, modifiers, as well as wireless controllers, and how they work and communicate with your camera. Kate will also review the best camera settings for creating studio portraits.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Work with small flash units like the Profoto A2.
  • Work with higher capacity flash units like the Profoto B20 & B30.
  • Select modifiers for specific goals, including the use of umbrellas, softboxes, grids, and gels.
  • Placement of light for different styles, highlighting Rembrandt, Beauty/Butterfly, Clamshell, Split, and more.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR

This workshop is for individuals who want to gain practical experience with lighting. Attendees will leave this session with the confidence to work with these tools on their own.

Attendees should have a basic understanding of White Balance, ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed, and how to change these on their cameras. We will be working in manual mode.

WHAT TO BRING

Camera with a hotshoe, at least one lens, a fully charged battery, and a memory card. The recommended lens should range from 50mm to 85mm. This course is open to both digital and film photographers!
