
This workshop will include an overview of lights, modifiers, as well as wireless controllers, and how they work and communicate with your camera. Kate will also review the best camera settings for creating studio portraits.

This workshop is for individuals who want to gain practical experience with lighting. Attendees will leave this session with the confidence to work with these tools on their own.
Attendees should have a basic understanding of White Balance, ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed, and how to change these on their cameras. We will be working in manual mode.
Camera with a hotshoe, at least one lens, a fully charged battery, and a memory card. The recommended lens should range from 50mm to 85mm. This course is open to both digital and film photographers!

Kate Hailey is a Portrait Photographer based in Seattle. Kate’s work is a mix of studio portraiture to street photography, blending in movement and stories along the way.
