Overview of the event
What does cohousing actually feel like, day to day — and what does it take to make it work?
Join UK Cohousing Network for an in-depth afternoon visit to a lived-in cohousing community, offering a rare opportunity to step inside the reality of community-led housing.
This paid visit is designed for people actively exploring cohousing — whether you’re forming a group, considering joining a community, or reflecting on how you want to live in the years ahead.
The afternoon will include:
- A guided tour of the site, including shared spaces and a private home
- An introduction to how the community was developed and how it operates today
- A Q&A with residents, focused on real experiences — what’s worked, what’s been hard, what they wish they’d known
- Informal discussion with UK Cohousing Network on current trends and others on a similar journey
- Time to reflect, ask questions, and connect with peers
- A simple soup/baked potato style lunch, plus tea, coffee and maybe a cake.
- This is not a sales pitch or a showcase of perfection. It’s a grounded, honest look at cohousing in practice — socially, practically and emotionally.
Who this visit is for:
- People exploring cohousing or collective housing models
- Early-stage groups and individuals thinking seriously about next steps
- Professionals or practitioners wanting a first-hand understanding of how cohousing functions as a place to live
Places are limited to keep the visit conversational and respectful of residents’ homes.
