An In Conversation with Cosey Fanni Tutti and Caroline Catz at Humber Street Gallery.

In conversation at Humber Street Gallery, Caroline Catz and Cosey Fanni Tutti reflect on Cosey’s career and continuing practice, from early transgressive work to questions of memory, control and self-representation. Drawing on their ongoing collaboration, the talk offers insight into how personal history becomes art — and how that work resonates today.

About Caroline:

Caroline Catz is an actor, director and screenwriter who has worked extensively across television, film, theatre and radio. Her BBC film Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and the Legendary Tapes premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, won the SXSW Special Jury Prize, and marked her first collaboration with Cosey Fanni Tutti. She is currently working with Cosey on a feature-length documentary exploring Cosey’s life and work.

Incognito exhibition at Humber Street Gallery:

Incognito is the embodiment of multiple identities originally constructed by Cosey Fanni Tutti to function within the glamour industry between 1973 and 1981. The industry comprised modelling agencies, soft-porn magazine publishers and their distributors, as well as a network of venues: studios, pubs and clubs across London.

This eponymous exhibition brings together film, vinyl music, costumes, performance documentation, press cuttings, and correspondence; many rare material items from Cosey’s personal archive never previously exhibited.
