Want to get your head around how to make high quality compost quickly on a big scale?
In this workshop we will make a large scale hot compost pile from scrach using widely available materials and discussing what key elements are at work in this method of composting. A handy beginners workshop to get you composting quickly and efficiently, combining practical activities and well as written and visual information for you to take home. Refreshments will be provided.
ACCESS AND USEFUL INFO:
- The site is technically wheelchair accessible, however here are obsacles and uneven ground.
- Nearest toilet is abou 200 metres away a kentish drovers Wheehrspooms pub in Peckham or Peckham Library.
- The workshop will be held outdoors come rain or shine, there is a small shelter, but we will be working in the uncovered part of he garden mostly so come prepared! waterprooof clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and hard toed closed waterproof shoes encouraged! gloves are provided.
- The workshop will consist of looking at visual information on boards and sheets , discussion, and actively making a new compost heap.
- Seating is on wooden logs.
- Refreshments including hot drinks and some snacks will be provided but please make sure you have eaten before hand or bring somehing along if you think you'll get hungry.
