Join us on a journey through time as we uncover the untold stories behind Minnesota's civil rights movement.

The Minnesota Humanities Center is honored to collaborate with the Governor’s Council on the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday to deliver the Inaugural Minnesota Historical Landmark Tour, a full-day immersive exploration of African American history, culture, and contemporary significance across Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

This guided tour will highlight key sites connected to the Black freedom struggle, including:

  • Minneapolis’s historical Black Wall Street corridor
  • Saint Paul’s Rondo Community
  • Other landmark locations that illuminate stories of civil rights, organizing, culture, resilience, and community leadership across generations

Participants will hear from a panel of community experts, including historians, culture bearers, organizers, and the official tour guide. The experience includes lunch, transportation, and all program materials.
