Hiking Basics

Is hiking on your 2026 NY list? Have you been off the trail for a while and need a little boost of confidence to get back? Or, your brand new and need the deats to get you safely on your first hike? Whether you're a seasoned hiker or new to hitting the trail, this is the seminar for you. To get you prepared (or as a refresher) we will discuss the all the pieces of gear you need for any hike - most specifically in the desert. From proper footwear to planning the hike that is right for you, we will cover it all, or what we can in 60 minutes. Come prepared with your questions as well.

This class is free but gratuity is greatly appreciated! It will be taught by a seasoned hiking professional with 30+ years for experience - Ray, one of the owners of JRI:)

There will be no handouts, so please bring something to write on and with to take notes.
