“Peacebuilders,” a unique, dynamic teen leadership program for high schoolers, runs Wednesdays 6-8 pm February-April

Join Us for the High School Leadership, Peace Building and Community Service Program!

“Peacebuilders,” a unique, dynamic teen leadership program for high schoolers, runs from February-April of 2026. The program consists of weekly sessions on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm at Anne’s Haven, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Portage Park. It is offered at no charge to students.

Focused on building students’ leadership, communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills and inspiring creative community service, this program is exactly what is needed, especially now. Partner organizations like BUILD Chicago and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations will present topics such as restorative justice and nonviolent communication, empowering students to become “peacebuilders” and build more just, peaceful communities. Furthermore, students will gain valuable leadership and teamwork experience to add to their resume and college applications - making them a more competitive candidate for job opportunities - and learn about peacebuilding, an increasingly important career field.
