HEADING UPSTREAM: Tackling causes, not consequences

We are back for a second year, but this time we want to have a different conversation at this year’s Somerset Convention.

What could the community sector do if we could focus on working to prevent the cause, rather than providing support to manage the effect? How can we create capacity to change within the individual and our communities in Somerset?

We will explore ways that local and national organisations are seeking to create change, build resilience and prevent the need for intervention when people and communities are at crisis point. Through a mixture of panel debates, breakouts and presentations we want to start a new conversation that will inform our work in Year 3 of our strategy and beyond.
