Hawaiian Cultural Arts Conference
The conference will consist of four days of intense instruction in a traditional Hawaiian cultural art led by 20+ of our kumu (master practitioners) from throughout Hawaiʻi. Each student will be assigned to only one class for the entire four days to allow for an immersive learning experience. Learn more at hawaiianculturalarts.com
Students are invited to attend the pre-conference huaka’i to learn about our natural resources and the associated protocols of gathering and utilizing materials. Local favorites will be served at the culminating hō’ike where classes share what they have learned. Students are encouraged to wear or display items they created throughout the conference. The proceeds are used to bring more kumu to the conference and provide scholarships for deserving young adults.
