19th century artisanal lectures in the London Science Schools

Self-help in education was a feature of 19th century working men’s lives. This illustrated short talk will describe how and why a series of academic scientific lectures to Working Men was so successful between 1851 and 1899.

Join Anne Barrett, Chairman of Archives for London and University Archivist & Corporate Records Manager at Imperial College London, for this final seminar of the year. The talk will be kept short to allow time for festive cheer - fizz, nibbles, and good company included!

Date and Time: Wednesday 26th November, 18:00-19:00
Doors open at 17:30 and close at 19:25
Location: Huntley Room at The London Archives
Cost: Free for AfL Members, £10.00 for non-members
