How the Atom Will Save the World

Energy is fundamental to human prosperity. Meeting society’s growing demand for reliable, abundant energy — without wrecking the natural environment — is one of the great challenges of the 21st century. In this talk, Dr Tim Gregory weaves together scientific optimism and myth-busting data to show why embracing nuclear power is essential for building a high-energy, green future for all.

Following Tim’s talk, there will be a 45-min panel discussion that will explore what ‘Going Nuclear’ might mean for the South West, featuring contributions from panellists from the university, energy and defence sectors.

  • Doors open at 18:30
  • Lecture starts at 19:00, including Q&A
  • Panel session at approx 19:40
  • Refreshments at 20:00
  • Event finish at 20:30

Dr Tim Gregory's new book "Going Nuclear" is currently available for purchase.
