You would be forgiven, if you’ve said you have never heard of Fuyong Estate. Not many have. It is perhaps really true that Fuyong Estate is one of Singapore’s best kept secrets.

Uncle Chris was only drawn to it when I was invited for a visit. The reality is this – Fuyong Estate has one of the best locations at Bukit Timah. It sits just behind the Rail Mall, which also means the Hillview MRT station is just a little walk away.

You could buy a landed property for just under a million – which means life can be had at a rather comfortable budget – (considering that this is part of the Bukit Timah landscape). So, is there a catch?

Yes, there is… the land lease is fast running out. It began in 1947. Putting this aside, Life at Fuyong is almost like a fairy tale. The nostalgic old–world charm beckons both residents and new comers. The surrounding nature from the nearby parks adds to the charming atmosphere.
