Frugal Foodies East Bay--Chef Spotlight: Martin Yan

I grew up watching a LOT of PBS because it was the main thing that my mom watched. And one of the first Asian chefs that I learned about was Martin Yan on Yan Can Cook. His bubbly energy, distinctive voice, and dishes that you could taste through the TV screen excited all of my senses. So why not turn back the clock and celebrate a Bay Area chef who played an important part in popularizing Chinese/Hong Kongese food in America. Only we’ll do it vegetarian style.
