*Fr. Leo Patalinghug, Award-Winning Chef, Author & Host, will be partnering with the Emmaus Parish Knights of Columbus for a delicious Lenten Fish Fry with a special food demonstration from his Plating Grace Ministry!

He is a Catholic priest, a professional chef, an author, and an international speaker known for his "food and faith" movement, Plating Grace (formerly Grace Before Meals). He uses the shared family meal as a way to strengthen relationships and connect with God.

  • Background and Calling Born in the Philippines and raised in the Baltimore, Maryland area, Fr. Leo developed a love for cooking from his mother, a home economics teacher. He was a student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) when he felt a calling to the priesthood and was ordained in 1999. He holds advanced theological degrees from pontifical universities in Rome.
  • Chef and Media Personality Fr. Leo gained national recognition after defeating celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a steak fajita "throwdown" on the Food Network. He hosts the weekly international TV show Savoring Our Faith on EWTN and co-hosts a Sirius XM radio show.
  • Ministry His primary apostolate is Plating Grace, which promotes the importance of families eating together. He is also the founder of The Table Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides culinary training and employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals and veterans.
  • Other Talents Beyond his culinary and priestly duties, Fr. Leo has a diverse background as a two-time black belt in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do and Arnis) and a former award-winning breakdancer and choreographer.
  • Author He is a best-selling author of several books, including Grace Before Meals, Spicing Up Married Life, and Saving the Family.

Fr. Leo serves as a priest member of the religious community Voluntas Dei and continues to travel internationally for speaking engagements, parish missions, and culinary pilgrimages.
