A live podcast exploring the past, present, and future of British ultramarathon racing, with James Elson, Hugh Tibbs, and Poppy Collingwood.

Fork in the Trail: The Future of British Ultramarathon Racing

Ultrarunning has never been bigger.

Over 85,000 people in the UK have a UTMB index ranking, and over 400 ultra-distance races took place in Britain in 2025.

But as the sport grows, so too does the risk of a monopoly, both in terms of the businesses involved in promoting it, and the motivations driving those participating.

To discuss the state of play in the sport heading into the 2026 racing season, join host Ed Scott for a special live episode of Feet First, with guests James Elson, Hugh Tibbs, and Poppy Collingwood, as well as a special guest speaker from youth charity TrailFam.

Doors open at 7PM, with the podcast kicking off at 7:30. There will be time for a Q&A as well as a post-event social.

Join us on the next morning for a group run with Poppy Collingwood and TrailSkin
Kicking off at 9am from Running Late, Hackney. More info here.
