\nOur Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) session with Tricia from 'Deep in Nature’ could be for you if you:
\nWhat is forest bathing?
\nForest Bathing was developed in Japan in the 1980’s by a medical doctor as an evidence-backed practice to manage stress. It is now practiced worldwide and is being introduced in the UK through the NHS Green Prescribing Programme, with Surrey the first county to offer it.
\nDuring this 2-hour session you will be led by Forest Bathing Guide Tricia Parish (Certified through Nadur and Mind Hillingdon).
\nParticipants are taken on a slow-paced and gentle walk through a woodland landscape and invited to try various nature-based mindfulness activities designed to help relaxation and boost mental health. Participants leave the walk with tips and activities to practice on their own. No prior experience or fitness is necessary, beyond an ability to walk slowly for up to one mile, the maximum length of the walk.
\nThe session is designed to slow you down, becoming more aware and mindful of the joy of our natural surroundings and really bathing in the smells, sights, sounds of nature. Noticing and really taking in the small things we can miss on walks or hikes. The session ends with a tea ceremony where we celebrate our nature connection and can choose to share our experiences.
\nScientific studies have found that forest bathing can:
\nAs well as many other evidenced health benefits.
