After the show, the night carries on in the bar with an open, unplugged folk sing-along session. Bring your guitar, fiddle, whistle, bodhrán — or simply bring your voice — and join in. Whether you’re a seasoned session player or just love a good chorus, everyone is welcome.
Begin the year with songs, shared tradition, and a room full of music lovers.
Come for the concert. Stay for the tunes.
Cara Elin
Cara Elin, this Welsh folk musician and her band bring to life the darkest tales of the Mabinogion. Their music paints pictures of misty mountaintops and tylwyth teg with vibrant originals and interpretations of traditional verse.
Hickory Signals
Hickory Signals is husband and wife duo, Adam Ronchetti (percussion, guitar) and Laura Ward (vocals, flute). Together they perform old songs sourced over more than a decade of digging into folk music, and some newer songs they wrote themselves. Now more regularly found playing with folk group Bird in the Belly, this is a rare opportunity to hear them perform as Hickory Signals. The Guardian once called them "direct, atmospheric and deeply affecting" so if they get the words right, it'll be a good show! Expect songs of sex, love and misery, with just enough humour to make for a lovely January Friday night. See you there.
