Filmmaking Workshop | London

UK film production company Trident Productions welcomes you to a focused but friendly one-day film workshop and networking session where actors and film crew work on and behind the camera, gain set experience, and leave with usable showreel and portfolio material.

This isn’t a classroom. It’s a working set with a director, crew, and peers who are serious about making things happen and getting strong material for their showreels and portfolios.

Across the day you’ll perform or crew in two short scenes (split between our A-Unit and B-Unit sets), capture BTS photos and videos for your socials and connect with plenty of like-minded creatives as well.

You can stay for the entire day into the evening or leave when you've done your scene and feel you got what you needed from the event!

After we wrap filming for the day there is an informal networking drinks reception in the evening where you can socialise, network, and talk about the day's work.

Whether you’re just beginning or levelling up your creative portfolio, you’ll find collaboration, shared learning, and plenty of fun.

Expect networking but also real on-set rhythm with quiet windows when we’re filming, otherwise it's a lively, collaborative atmosphere for meeting people and sharing insights.

What’s Included

• Hands-on filmmaking & acting exercises and showreel filming
• Actors perform in professionally directed showreel scenes and the crew learn about core technical skills: camera, lighting, eye line, blocking
• Filmmakers & crew contribute to staging, blocking and filming and gain practical on-set experience
• Takeaway assets: scene footage for showreels and portfolios as well as a certificate of completion from Trident Productions
• Networking with the core creative team at Trident and new collaborators
• Stay for the entire day from morning until evening or leave when you think you've got what you needed from the event

What you’ll do

• Work on a live set with your scene partners plus a director and small crew
• Perform or crew in two filmed scenes
• Network on set and on location throughout the day and into the evening
• Capture BTS photos and short clips for your socials
• Experience quiet/lock-it-down windows while we are filming, and a friendly, energetic vibe for the rest of the day

Group Size & Format

We keep sessions small — typically 8 to 15 participants — to ensure personalised attention and in-depth guidance from each other and our director and crew.

Expect an open, collaborative environment with practical support throughout the day.

Ticket types:

• The Performer Pass — perform on camera in two scenes as an actor
• The Crew Pass — assist during the day in camera, AD, or sound department
• The Observer Pass — come to observe, learn, and network only
