Film showing: Woman Grows Jeans

Join us for a special screening of the documentary Woman Grows Jeans at the Guildhall, Bradninch. Witness the incredible journey of a woman who cultivated jeans from scratch. Get ready to be inspired by this unique story that challenges traditional fashion norms. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind event!

Textile production is one of the most damaging industries in the world, causing 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, as well as using and polluting water across the planet. But there used to be other ways that don't damage the planet. This film follows the story of the lost crafts of growing fabric plants, dyeing and weaving.

Justine Aldersey-Williams is Director of natural dye studio The Wild Dyery, Co-Director of Homegrown Colour Ltd. and Founder of the Northern England Fibreshed. In this documentary she investigates ways that we can grow and dye our own fabrics in the UK, from plant to product. Join us as we watch her pioneering story as she creates the first pair of jeans made entirely in Britain.
