Powerful short films on seed sovereignty, food freedom & farmer resistance.\nWatch, connect, and be part of the growing movement

Part of our Annual Seed Festival | 6โ€“8 March
๐Ÿ“ Screening on Saturday 7 March

Join us for a powerful evening of storytelling, resistance, and hope as we screen a series of inspiring short films that celebrate the beauty, resilience, and urgency of seed sovereignty.

Produced by the Gaia Foundation and Panayotis โ€” two profound inspirations behind the founding of our North London grassroots Seed Protector group โ€” these films shine a light on the communities around the world who are defending biodiversity, cultural heritage, and food freedom.

Together, weโ€™ll journey from India to Wales, Ethiopia to Greece through four films:

๐ŸŒพ Dr Debal Deb and THE LAST HARVEST (21 mins)
Saving indigenous rice varieties from extinction in India โ€” a race against time to protect biodiversity and farmersโ€™ independence.

๐ŸŒพ Llafur Ni โ€“ Our Grains (7 mins)
A poetic glimpse into community grain revival in Wales.

๐ŸŒพ Seeds of Justice โ€“ In the Hands of Farmers (37 mins)

๐ŸŒพ 30 years Peliti (12 mins)

An intimate and powerful exploration of farmers reclaiming control over their seeds and food systems.

These films remind us that seeds are not just the beginning of food โ€” they are the foundation of culture, identity, resilience, and freedom.

We are delighted to be joined by special guests connected to the films, who will help us root these global stories in our own UK context. After the screening, stay for a lively and grounded discussion about what seed sovereignty means here โ€” and how we can take action together.

๐ŸŽŸ Suggested donation: ยฃ5 on the door
For those who are financially able, we invite you to contribute towards our annual fundraising efforts. Each year, we raise funds to connect our local seed work with and in solidarity with our Global South siblings who are on the frontlines of seed protection. (More details to follow.)

Come be inspired. Come be informed. Come be part of the growing movement to protect the seeds โ€” and organise for the future.
