Festive Hand-building Ceramics Workshop

🌚🕯️🌞 Develop your connection with clay and prepare for winter solstice during this festive ceramics workshop at Meadows Studios. 🌚🕯️🌞

Successfully create objects such as sculptures, wreaths and bowls, or welcome back the light with a candlestick holder. In this one day workshop you will be introduced to clay as a material and the various techniques you can employ to manipulate it to match your vision. As this will be leading up to Solstice and Christmas it will be the perfect time to make presents or unique decorations. Be guided or self-led, and make as much or as little as you'd like.

The workshop will be taught by Ceramicist Jessica Tremaine. With 8 years in the art form and 3 years of teaching experience, you will be in safe hands. Equal amounts of guidance and freedom will be offered to you on the day.

Over this 1-day workshop we will cover:

• Slab building - An impactful way to build structure quickly.

• Coiling - A classic hand-building technique to create work that allows the makers aesthetic to shine through.

• Decorative techniques - Examples of applied designs will be shown should you wish to apply them to your artworks.

🍷🍮🥨 At 4pm there will be a social where you can shop the carefully selected homeware and clothing in the Meadows Studios store. We will have a bar where you can purchase natural wine and some delicious festive snacks.🍷🍮🥨

This workshop is suitable for those with little to no experience in ceramics and those who are looking for space to develop their skills.

• All material costs are included with glazing an additional flat fee of £10 for all your works.
• Fired works can be collected for free or delivered for a fee.

• If you are unwaged please email as we may be able to offer you a discounted ticket.
