Tamo de novo!! Join us to celebrate Carnaval and the 1st birthday of Newcastle’s Roda de Samba! A celebration of community in a uniquely Brazilian style. Featuring Banda Zuêra, Gustavo Andrade and The Brasukas live on stage, and DJ Sistasoul on the decks, this is going to be our biggest party yet!

Extended tickets available for the club night if you want to keep the Carnaval vibes going all night.

Gustavo Andrade & The Brasukas

The Brasukas’ sound is a full-spectrum celebration of Brazilian music, with irresistible arrangements by Gustavo that draw from samba, MPB, bossa nova, samba rock, axé, forró, Brazilian soul, frevo, and Rio-style jazz-funk. Their sets feature vibrant interpretations of classics by Jorge Ben, Gilberto Gil, Tim Maia, Ivete Sangalo, Tom Jobim, Alcione, Seu Jorge, Leci Brandão, Djavan, and Ed Motta.

Whether lighting up a festival stage or igniting a packed dancefloor, Gustavo Andrade & The Brasukas deliver unforgettable performances that bring the healing sounds of home to the Brazilian diaspora—and introduce a legendary musical tradition to audiences across the UK.

Banda Zuêra

Our house band - led by percussionist Nik Alevroyiannis and featuring some of the finest musicians in the north of England and regular guests, Banda Zuêra have provided the foundation of our roda since the very beginning. This band doesn’t need a stage; they play in the heart of the crowd, turning every song into a shared celebration.

Andrea Robertson aka Sistasoul

Raised in London to a Welsh mother and Caribbean father, DJ, MC, and radio host Andrea Robertson has toured worldwide; from Croatia and Corfu to Great Yarmouth and Whitley Bay - bringing world music to the masses.
