Audiences will be guided by actors through a labyrinth of rooms inside Virginia-Highland Church, each room holding a scene and activations, following a storyline that speaks to Great Love being the eternal purpose and center of the universe.
F*CK THIS, I’M GOING TO CHURCH is a radical protest against the rise of harmful and hateful religious practices in the form of an explosive, immersive theatre experience. A reclaiming of the idea of “church” as Love, this piece honors and considers people of all faiths or no faiths and sees them as holy and equal. Exploring spirituality in all of its forms, this project seeks to elevate inner unity, connection, and encourage the most authentic self.
Audience members will be masked to remain anonymous to the performers.
As an immersive exprience, this play will run approximately two hours without a designated intermission. Audience members who need to take a break will be able to do so at their leisure.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTE:
The guided path will include stairs. Audience members who may not be able to access scenes reachable by stairs will be provided a unique, specialized experience in the immersive style of the show.
