This talk looks at RAF Milfield, an RAF base in north Northumberland, which played an active role in the Second World War.

If the Battle of Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton, then the Battle of Normandy was won over the green fields of Northumberland.

RAF Milfield was the training centre for a group of pilots who would use their low flying skills to devastating effect. This talks remembers their successes and the cost in lives that occurred both over the hills and down on the range at Goswick.
