Welcome to Family Herb Club - introducing wild hearted kids and their grown ups to awesome edible and medicinal plants led by herbalist Nicola Fenton, of Fenton's Herbology.
This group is suitable for ages 4 - 11. Siblings under 4 do not require a ticket unless you would like them to take part in an activity with an item to take home :) We meet at the Scout Hut on Empingham Road in Stamford - please see FAQ for further details on location!
What is Family Herb Club all about...?
We'll be foraging! Let's get kids knowing what plants they are passing by, and learning how to harvest them and use them! Grown ups - become confident at what is safe for your little ones to touch, sniff and nibble - and some of the do's and don't's that go with it!
We'll be growing! Kids will grow their own herbs so they can learn what it takes to take care of our plant friends to help them grow - and then be rewarded with awesome tasting plants so they can make their own cups of herbal teas!
We'll be observing! The key to really learning about plants is to observe them and using our senses to get to know them, and slowing down - a very special skill for kids and grown ups to practice!
We'll be tasting! Throughout the seasons we'll be tasting loads of different plants - from a nibble of them when they are freshly picked to teas and cordials according to the season!
We'll be making! Things from plants and the nature around us plus simple herbal remedies, and things that can make our bodies and minds feel fabulous!
