About NAAMCE

Located at the Springfield–Beckley Municipal Airport, the NAAMCE opened in September 2023 and is a premier research and development facility dedicated to advancing the field of Advanced Air Mobility.

Spanning 55,000 square feet, the center comprises 30,000 square feet of administrative, laboratory, meeting, and collaboration spaces, along with an additional 25,000 square feet of aircraft hangar space.

NAAMCE serves as a collaborative hub, bringing together key stakeholders from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA, the Ohio Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center, academic institutions and private industry.

The facility supports a wide range of activities, including the development and testing of eVTOL aircraft, high-speed VTOL aircraft and other AAM technologies.

In addition to its research and development functions, NAAMCE plays a pivotal role in workforce development and training. The center is equipped with eVTOL simulators to train crew members and supports various demonstration projects that showcase technologies advancing AAM integration beyond the aircraft itself.
