Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End

Presented by MariLou Productions, Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End by sisters Allison & Margaret Engel is a solo show taking a comic look at one of our country’s most beloved voices, who captured the frustrations of her generation by asking, “If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing in the pits?” Discover the story behind America’s beloved humorist who championed women’s lives with wit that sprang from the most unexpected place of all - the truth. Originally directed by Toni Palumbo.

Playing the title role is Louise K. Cornetta, nominated for a 2022 Broadway World SW Florida Award for best solo performance for her portrayal of Erma Bombeck at the Center for Performing Arts in Bonita Springs and has performed lead roles for Marco Island (Hollywood Arms, Vanities, Love Letters), the Naples Studio Players (Beer for Breakfast) and Bonita (At Wit’s End; A Girl’s Guide to Chaos; Stage It). Louise has spent years of performing in Connecticut on stage, screen and commercials where she enjoyed a 27-year career at ESPN taking her to every major sporting event. The Dangerfields, a feature film she was in, is available on Amazon Prime.

Louise also performs on the Seminole Gulf Murder Mystery Dinner Train, Gibson House Murder Mysteries, They Improv and through her company, MariLou Productions, performs the one woman show Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End at country clubs, retirement communities, theaters and other venues. Louise is grateful for the love and support of her parents and husband, Turgut.
