Eden Jazz Night Presents: Kevin Suwandhi Quintet

Led by Indonesian pianist and composer Kevin Suwandhi, this dynamic international quintet brings together top jazz voices from Indonesia, Poland, and Singapore for an evening of original contemporary jazz. Expect lyrical piano lines, bold saxophone improvisation, groove-driven rhythms, and the distinctive flair of special guest flautist Rit Xu.

With performances spanning major festivals across Asia and Europe, and members who have shared stages with global jazz legends, the Kevin Suwandhi Quintet delivers sophisticated, high-energy jazz shaped by rich cross-cultural collaboration.

The Musicians

Kevin Suwandhi – Piano

An award-winning Indonesian pianist and New School (NYC) scholar, Kevin has performed at major festivals including Java Jazz and Ubud Village Jazz Festival. A prolific composer since his teens, he leads multiple original projects and continues to shape a contemporary jazz voice bridging Indonesia, Poland, and beyond.

Kuba Skowroński – Saxophone

Polish saxophonist and award-winning improviser, Kuba has performed across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Known for his versatile tone and cross-cultural collaborations, he brings a bold, post-Coltrane sensibility shaped by his work in Berlin, Poland, and Indonesia.

Yap Ting Wei – Drums

One of Singapore’s leading drummers, Ting Wei has shared the stage with jazz legends including Benny Golson and Randy Brecker. Renowned for his technical precision and musical sensitivity, he is a driving force in Singapore’s jazz community.

Russell Seow – Bass

A deeply expressive bassist active across jazz, emo rock, and hip hop scenes, Russell brings groove, warmth, and emotional depth to the ensemble, grounding the quintet’s dynamic interplay.

Rit Xu – Flute (Guest Artist)

An internationally acclaimed flautist and winner of the National Flute Association Jazz Artist Competition (USA), Rit Xu is known for his lyrical tone and bold post-bop sensibility. A concerto soloist and major touring artist, he adds a distinctive and elevated voice to the quintet’s soundscape
