Drypoint and Carborundum Workshop
This session covers a contemporary printmaking staple with a hands-on Drypoint and Carborundum session.
Drypoint is an intaglio process, using line to build form, shape and definition. Using sharp tools to scratch lines into the plate, it captures the sketch-like appearance of drawn lines.
Carborundum offers texture and tone using carborundum grit and pastes to build up. Together they work excellently to create line, movement and depth.
This in-person event is perfect if you love experimenting with textures and lines. You'll learn techniques to create your own unique prints using these classic methods, making several original prints by the end of the day. This course is suitable for beginners or those with experience who want to refresh their skills.

She studied Fine Art at the University of Gloucester before undertaking a Masters in Fine Art Print at The University of the Arts London: Camberwell College. Her specialism is in intaglio and etching; however, her work utilises many traditional and contemporary printmaking processes. Having worked as a printmaking technician in university print departments and as an independent workshop facilitator, she has a broad knowledge of many printmaking techniques, as well as a contemporary understanding of their application.
Evangeline has exhibited her prints widely throughout the UK, including at Clifford Chance Postgraduate Print in London, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Scottish Parliament and the Royal Academy Summer exhibition. Her work is held in the Clifford Chance contemporary print collections, having been awarded the Clifford Chance Postgraduate Print Purchase prize in 2022.
Printmaking is a passion, and she loves teaching people the different processes, whether it is their first steps into print or whether they are looking to develop. Print offers exciting possibilities for many creative processes.
