Climate change and unpredictable extreme weather conditions are affecting how we grow sustainably in the city. At Core Landscapes’ our drought mitigation techniques means we can grow tough plants in a variety of beautiful green spaces around the Core Arts centre in Homerton, Hackney.

This session will include a tour of Core’s award-winning green sites that use a range of water management techniques including rain-water harvesting, good plant choice, soil-care and solar-powered irrigation systems, There will be time for Q&A’s throughout the session.

The tour will include:

  • Core Arts Community Garden behind St Barnabas’ Church
  • Meadow strip and community orchard in Homerton Grove
  • Rain Garden on Wardle Street
  • Street planting on Wardle Street
  • Small Community Garden on St Barnabas Terrace

Fold up chairs can be supplied to rest at each site if required. This workshop is in partnership with Eco Active, supported by Hackney Council.
