Learn to draw in this enjoyable short course in our countryside studio.

Learn something new and build confidence in your drawing skills in this informative and enjoyable five-week course, held in the studio at Field Art Space. Suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to refresh their skills, this course focuses on the foundations of drawing helping you develop a skill set you can continue using long after the course ends.

Led by artist Kate Hammersley, you’ll work from still life and nature while learning about materials and practical techniques.

  • 24 Feb Introduction to materials, lines and ellipses
  • 3 Mar Tone and form
  • 10 Mar Shape and negative space
  • 17 Mar Texture and mark-making
  • 24 Mar Light and shade

Artist and drawing specialist. Former workshop leader at the Ashmolean Museum and member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, London. Founder of Field Art Space.

Suitable for: Adults aged 18+

Tea and coffee included.

What to bring

  • Pencils: HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B (you can borrow some if you don't have them) A sketchbook is useful. We'll supply the rest!
