Creative intensive for artists in dance and film who want to collaborate across disciplines, taking place as part of the DFP Film Festival.

3–Day Creative Collaborative Intensive

For Artists seeking to create and collaborate across art disciplines.

Create a short film concept in teams, receive professional video footage alongside guidance from DFP production crew.

The intensive is for dancers, choreographers, actors, directors, filmmakers and photographers.

First day workshops are optional, you can opt in just to collaborate & create your own short film concept.

What to expect:

DAY 1 - LEARN

Friday 14:00–19:00

A focused session on screen-based practice and production structure:

• Directing movement for camera

• Composition ideas for space, bodies, and camera

• Performance and camera awareness

• Cinematic approaches to capturing movement

• Pre-production & post-production essentials

• Budget and schedule planning

• How to structure and lead a production

DAY 2 - COLLABORATE

Saturday 12:00–16:00

On this day you will get a chance to collaborate across artistic disciplines to create your own short film concept.

On the day you will:

• Choose a creative team to collaborate with

• Develop a concept

• Plan production / moodboard

• Test and rehearse

DAY 3 - CREATE

Sunday 13:00–19:00

• Rehearse and refine

• Receive feedback from DFP Artistic Director and Associates

• Execute your concept

• Film with DFP crew guidance and your allocated filmmakers

• Receive all footage for your professional portfolio

LIMITED PLACES

To maintain a high-level working environment we only accept:

10 filmmakers

10 photographers

(places for actors, dancers and directors are open until max capacity reached)

This ensures meaningful collaboration and professional focus.

Important: Film and Photography participants MUST bring their own equipment.

While creating your idea please consider practical limitations such as location access, time restrictions, and shared filming schedules. Each team will have a defined production window, and proposals must be achievable within that timeframe to ensure every participant has equal opportunity to realise their work.
