DesignTinkers 5-day Camp 6 (Dec)

Join us for an exciting 5-day Holiday Camp where children dive into a world of creativity and innovation! Designed to spark curiosity, this hands-on camp invites kids to explore a variety of make-and-build projects; encouraging experimentation, enhancing dexterity, and strengthening both creative and critical thinking skills. Each day brings a new opportunity to learn, create, and have fun through purposeful play and exploration.

On Day 1, students will experience what graphic designers do. They will get hands-on experience designing the branding for their own imaginary company, choosing between a pet shop, an ice cream parlor, or a fashion boutique. Using Canva, students will learn key graphic design principles like visual hierarchy, typography, and page layout to create a logo and various marketing materials, including a business card, letterhead, and basic product packaging. The camp provides an immersive and creative introduction to the field, with students taking home all their completed digital work.

On Day 2, students will learn a basic introduction to TinkerCAD + 3D Printing (Level 1). Guided by experienced instructors and 3D printing specialists, children will learn TinkerCAD to create a mini stationery pot before exporting it to a 3D printer for printing. Children will witness the process of their digital form being printed from scratch.

While waiting for the 3D print, students will continue to explore TinkerCAD digital space, learning how to use the software as a design tool to create various digital forms. This immersive hands-on learning will empower them to envision, design, and shape their future prototypes.

On Day 3, students will delve deeper into the exploration of TinkerCAD, mastering more advanced modelling techniques to design, model and 3D print their own creations.

Challenge to model your dream home

On Day 3, students will explore model making and be creative in building up a TreeHouse design. With a real tree branch as their site context, they'll explore form, features, levels, platforms, and openings, thinking creatively about how their treehouse will look and function. They will learn how to provide proper support and access, bringing their imaginative designs to life through thoughtful construction.

On Day 4 and 5, students will dive into the exciting world of Café designs as they explore what it takes to create a one-of-a-kind space. From cozy corners to trendy themes, they’ll unleash their creativity by brainstorming unique concepts for their dream café. Each student will develop personalized floor plans, pick out furniture, colors, and décor, and bring their café vision to life—one detail at a time. It’s the perfect blend of imagination, design, and fun!
