DELMARK DAY: Masterclass Series + Concerts

The Fox Valley Music Foundation is proud to present DELMARK DAY on Saturday, November 8th.

Join us for the second installment of our community related partnership between FVMF and the historic Delmark Records.

DELMARK DAY is a new event series filled with music, mentorship, good times and most of all, the blues!

The one hour Masterclass will be led by blues legends Bob Stroger and Billy Flynn, with DJ Julia Miller spinning rare and classic Delmark Records vinyl throughout the day. The evening concert will feature performances from the Knott Us Band and Bob Stroger & Friends.

This day-long celebration, funded by a Music In Action Grant from Live Music Society, brings together the power of live music, education, and Chicago music history.

⭐ MASTERCLASS: BOB STROGER + BILLY FLYNN ⭐

Blues masters Bob Stroger, member of Blues Hall of Fame, winner of the Jus’ Blues Music Award, six-time winner of Best Blues Bass Player, will conduct this workshop for musicians and non-musicians with his longtime friend and guitar player Billy Flynn. This workshop is for all levels of musicianship. If you want to play, bring your guitar and a small amp. If you are not a musician, you can still participate by listening to these masters and asking questions.

⭐ BOB STROGER & FRIENDS ⭐

Bob Stroger & Friends features the 94-year-old singer, bass player and band leader surrounded by some of his most cherished blues colleagues, musicals sons and grandsons. Member of the Blues Hall of Fame, winner of the Jus’ Blues Music Award, six-time winner of BEST BLUES BASS PLAYER of the year given by the Blues Foundation and also Living Blues magazine, are among some of the honors Bob Stroger has earned during his long and fruitful career. He is bringing with him to The Venue guitarist extraordinaire Billy Flynn, superstar pianist Johnny Iguana and the electrifying drummer Brian T. All of them are Delmark All-Star Band members and key names in the blues scene. Playing with Bob Stroger they are a living proof of the artistry and magic of Chicago Blues.

⭐ KNOTT US BAND ⭐

The Band “Knott Us” was birthed from Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides free performing arts education and training for youths ages 12-18. This dynamic performance band is comprised of multicultural pre-teens and teens who have wowed audiences all over our great state of Illinois. Some highlighted performance venues were The Chicago International Blues Fest, Rosa’s Lounge, Maxwell Street Market Days 2025, The Illinois State Fair and the Epiphany Center. Their setlist consists of classics originally performed by Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, Chuck Berry, BB King, Fernando Jones and Al Green just to name a few. So, if you’re looking to take a toe tapping, finger snapping, sing-a-long musical journey down memory lane, then Knott Us is your band of choice. This band has been dubbed “The Young Band with An Old Soul!”
