Defensive Handgun Skills

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This 3 Hour Live fire class is for both the general public with intermediate level handgun skills and the armed security officer who would like to improve their skills, or who may be preparing for their firearms qualification of recertification.

This course was adapted from the shooting proficiency requirements for an armed security officer, and is fully adaptable for home defense and CCW holders shooting skills.

Concentration will be placed on the following techniques:

• Check, Clear and Load semi auto or revolver
• Check, Clear and Unload semi auto or revolver
• Drawing from your holster
• Double Tap at at 20 feet
• Full Hip at 3 feet
• Multiple Targets / Threats at 20 feet
• Low Light shooting at 20 feet
• Shooting from Barricade at 30 feet
• Distance Shooting/ Sight Alignment at 50 feet

This course was designed to repeat multiple times so you can progressively improve on your skills.

This course is taught by firearms instructors who are certified in Marksmanship Coaching, Concealed Carry and Home Defense, and Defenseive Shooting.

PREREQUISITES:

Students taking this course will have previously attended one or all of the following:

• Concealed Carry Course or
• NRA Basic Pistol Course or
• OPOTA 20-Hour Firearms qualification
• Proficient in loading and unloading your weapon
• Students must be legally eligible to handle a firearm
• Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.*

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

• Instruction by Nationally Certified Defenisive Handgun Firearms Instructor
• Range Fees
• It is recommended that you use your own firearm, however, the use of a firearm can be provided at no cost (at checkout). - To ensure firearm safety and performance, we we ask that you use our ammunition with rentals - Available at classroom on day of class for purchase. (arrive 10 mins early to the classroom to make your purchase)

SUPPLY LIST:

Students are required to bring the following supplies:

• Functional handgun
• 2-3 magazines for semi-automatic pistols*
• Safety glasses* (available to borrow)
• Hearing Protection* (available to borrow)
• 100 - 150 Rounds of ammunition for your firearm* - this must be purchased before class begins. .22, 9mm, & 40 Cal are available to purchase in classroom, please arrive 10 mins early to the classroom to make your purchase
