Time: 5:30-7pm (We'll start on time!)

Location: Evanston Space 1243 Chicago Ave, Evanston
We'll likely be in the bar area. (We’ll be on the patio if decent weather--dreaming is free!).

Cost: Free for Design Evanston members | Voluntary contribution for non-members at the event (Suggested, but totally voluntary: $5-$10, pay at event via cash, check or Zelle).

Could some great ideas on how to improve life in Evanston come from the creative collision of diverse design minds working (er, playing) together in real time?

Design Evanston has launched Design Sports—a role up your sleeves, hoist a drink, hands-on get together where design practitioners and design enthusiasts across the design spectrum generate creative collisions on ways to create positive change in Evanston.

How Design Sports Works

Think of it as a creative workout for your community impact muscles:

• Connect through appreciative inquiry—discover the stories and perspectives of fellow designers you might never otherwise encounter in your daily work
• Identify opportunities for improving ourselves and Evanston
• Team up with others who share your passion for specific issues
• Generate ideas to turn diverse viewpoints into actionable ideas
• Present your team's vision to the group for feedback and learning
• Reflect on your own design journey

Why Now?

For over 40 years, Design Evanston has championed good design through advocacy, community engagement, education, and service. Design Sports is a space where all design disciplines can contribute their unique experience and expertise to our shared mission of making Evanston more livable, sustainable, and resilient.
