We’ll bring UV torches to look for biofluorescent beasties and keep an eye and ear out for other nocturnal wildlife. This 1-hour walk will be a gentle stroll of no more than 3km around the woodland looking and listening out for various nocturnal creatures and being out at night.
Suitable footwear recommended – while we will be sticking to the main paths it can get muddy in sections. Also, please wrap up warm as it can be quite cold and wet at night and bring a torch.
Suggested age range: 8+yrs. Please note that all under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
No dogs please except Guide and Assistance dogs.
Meet 10 minutes before the walk's start time at the South Downs National Park Events Van next to the Visitor Centre. Toilets and café will both be open. The Café will be serving hot drinks and a limited evening menu of hot food.
Please note that while the event is free, there are car parking charges at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. For more information visit - Parking at Queen Elizabeth Country Park
If you find you cannot make the walk, please cancel via Eventbrite or let us know at eventbookings@southdowns.gov.uk so that we can let people on the waiting list know.
