Ellen Elias-Bursać translates fiction and non-fiction by Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian authors. Her translation of David Albahari's novel Götz and Meyer was given the 2006 ALTA National Translation Award. Her translation Sons, Daughters, by Ivana Bodrožić, was given the EBRD prize for literature in 2025. She is a past president of the American Literary Translators Association.
