Current schools: OPAL school visit - Wormholt Park Primary School

This event is for existing schools going through the OPAL Primary Programme. It is an opportunity to observe playtime and network with other OPAL schools.

How do we develop our best teams? How can playtime support us to foster our school's values in all our children - resilience, courage, tenacity, kindness? How do children get their playthings out and put them away? What are the solutions to foxes and sandpits?

12pm-1pm Observation of playtime

Come and see a platinum OPAL playtime in action - ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.

1pm-2pm OPAL school networking

Discuss your journey with other OPAL school colleagues - share your successes, top tips and ways to overcome some of the challenges.

2pm-2:15pm Evaluation and close

About Wormholt Park Primary School

Wormholt Park Primary School is a two-form entry school based in Hammersmith and Fulham. They began their OPAL journey in July 2023 and worked tirelessly to implement cultural and environmental changes over the course of a year, resulting in the school being receiving an OPAL Platinum Award for the quality of its play provision and dedicated leadership. During this time, the school has seen a huge improvement in children’s lunchtime behaviour and attitudes, as well as a significant rise in attendance and punctuality.

Wormholt Park has an amazing environment for play, comprising a huge sandpit, wheeled zone, “Legoland,” and some wonderful small-world spaces including a farm and dinosaur land, plus a hair and beauty salon, music and dressing-up area, a large messy café, and a gardening area. They also have an impressive outdoor arts studio and a wide range of large loose parts.

Wormholt Park offers outstanding play provision, where every child enjoys an amazing playtime every day!

Additional information

Parking is not available on site. On street parking is either permit or paid. Both Shepherd's Bush Market and East Acton tube stations are a 15 minute walk away.

Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring your own lunch.

Only two tickets per school. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
