How do we develop our best teams? How can playtime support us to foster our school's values in all our children - resilience, courage, tenacity, kindness? How do children get their playthings out and put them away? What are the solutions to foxes and sandpits?
See for yourself what an amazing playtime looks like at Saint Augustine's Roman Catholic Primary School.
11am-12pm OPAL schools networking
Discuss your journey with other OPAL school colleagues - share your successes, top tips and ways to overcome some of the challenges.
12pm-1pm Observation of playtime
Come and see a platinum OPAL playtime in action - ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.
Saint Augustine’s is an inner-city, small urban site (no grass at all!) that has recently achieved an OPAL Platinum Award. If you want to see how to deliver the highest-standard play offer on a small urban site, this is the event for you!
Saint Augustine’s expertly show how to make the most of a small site, with countless social spaces creating awe and wonder at every turn, alongside natural play opportunities including digging and sandpits, mud kitchens and potion workshops. Whether children are quietly playing in the fairy garden, building forts, riding scooters or doing parkour, every child is engaged in a playful activity they have chosen for themselves.
We will be indoors and outdoors; please come dressed whatever the weather. OPAL schools play outdoors in all weathers.
Refreshments will be provided.
On-street parking is available.
Only two tickets per school. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
