1. Review text engineering principles and 3 Levels of Text Questioning strategy
2. Differentiate between activating and building background knowledge, and plan to do both within science lessons
3. Explore the research behind the Talk-Read-Talk-Write protocol, and apply it to a science lesson
4. Construct a crosswalk of text types, crosscutting concepts, and discourse stems for science classrooms
5. Leverage background knowledge to spark and drive discussion throughout an ELA lesson
