A Goan cooking adventure! Learn to make classic dishes like Fish Curry, Chicken Xacuti & traditional Croquettes.

Cuisine of Goa Cooking Class – A Culinary Journey to India’s West Coast

Description

Ever been to Goa? Or dreamed of visiting? Let us transport you there through the region’s incredible flavours in our Cuisine of Goa Cooking Class at Zouk Tea Bar & Grill Manchester.

Goan cuisine is famous for its blend of Indian spice and Portuguese influence — full of coconut, vinegar, and aromatic masalas that burst with flavour. In this hands-on cooking experience, you’ll learn to prepare four traditional Goan dishes, each showcasing the unique tastes of India’s sun-soaked western coast.

What You’ll Learn

This class is designed to be fun, hands-on and full of spice! You’ll have your own cooking station and will prepare each dish alongside our expert chefs.

Starters

Goan Chilli Chicken – Juicy chicken skewers marinated in roasted tomatoes, garlic and Kashmiri red chillies, then char-grilled to perfection. A versatile dish you can serve as a starter or a main with rice or salad.

Goan Croquettes – A Goan favourite served at every celebration. These spiced minced meat croquettes are flavoured with vinegar and aromatic spices — delicious with a tangy dip or chilli sauce.

Main Courses

Chicken Xacuti (pronounced ‘Shakuti’) – A Portuguese-inspired Goan classic featuring tender chicken cooked in a thick, spiced masala with poppy seeds, Kashmiri chillies and lemon. Serve with a dollop of yoghurt for balance.

Goan Fish Curry – Perhaps Goa’s most famous dish! Haddock cooked gently in a fragrant sauce of coconut, curry leaves and mustard seeds — aromatic, creamy, and deeply satisfying.

Sides: Pilau Rice & Naan Bread

(Our chefs will prepare the naan using the tandoor; step-by-step instructions will be provided so you can make it at home.)

After the Class

After cooking, sit down and enjoy a banquet-style meal of all your freshly prepared dishes, alongside your choice of drink.

You’ll take home:

✅ A Zouk apron

✅ A Certificate of Achievement

✅ A Recipe Pack so you can recreate your Goan favourites at home
