Join us for a creative writing class for secondary school students looking to develop their skills. Scroll down for the full event details.

✍️ Join us in Sante's stunning function room for a fun creative writing class at the end of the winter holidays.

πŸ’‘ This class is designed to help warm students creative talents up again, ready for a fresh start back in the New Year.

✨ We'll be exploring everything from characterisation to world building in stories. There will be a focus on supporting KS4 students prepare for the creative writing section in their English Language GCSE, but this class is also suitable for bright KS3 students looking to develop their talents.

πŸ“’ A notebook, stationary and everything that's needed for the class will be provided. However, if your child would like to bring anything along then they're very welcome to.

πŸ€“ This class is primarily for students in Key Stage 4 (of all levels and abilities!) but would also be suited to a KS3 students who enjoy creative writing and would like to be challenged creatively.

πŸ‘‰ If you would like your child to attend but aren't sure if it's right for them them, please get in touch at burton.road.network@gmail.com

πŸ‘©β€πŸ« The class teacher is Jo - an experienced Literacy Specialist who has worked at local schools (including Didsbury High) and as a private tutor. You can find more details about her experience and qualifications HERE.

πŸ€— Due to Jo's background, she will use dyslexia friendly strategies as this makes the class more inclusive for everyone - but please do get in touch if you have any concerns or questions.

🏷️ She is, of course, DBS checked and you are also welcome to stay for the class if you would like to.

πŸ₯ The class will be held in the upstairs function room and, if you'd like to stay, you're welcome to grab a coffee or some food at Sante downstairs.

πŸšƒ As you may know, parking in Didsbury can be a challenge so we'd encourage walking or using public transport where possible.

πŸ‘ It's kinder on the planet and frees up space for those with no option but to drive.

🚌 There is a bus stop just outside the venue and Burton Road tram stop is just a 5 / 10 minute walk away.

πŸ€” If you have any questions before joining then please do get in touch at burton.road.network@gmail.com
