Abstract interpretations of thin places sit alongside portraiture which examines the contemporary human condition in CONNECTIONS, our current exhibition. The show features work by Liverpool-based artist Harry Garner and abstract painter Annie Luke Turner
To accompany the exhibition, we are delighted that Harry will be joining us in the gallery on Saturday 21st February 2.30-4pm for an artist's talk. He'll be chatting about his practice and inspirations.
Exploring contemporary themes of faith and uncertainty, Harry creates works that allude to narrative and tell stories through implication. He is fascinated by the idea that painting can provide information, but not answers…

Harry Garner, b.1998, was born in rural Leicestershire into a multi-generational farming family. He left the family farm and studied Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University. Harry’s work has been exhibited across the UK, but he continues to live and work in Liverpool.
Using figurative painting allows Harry to stage vignettes, often derived from a historical context, that balance between the ambiguous and the specific. His subject matter defies straightforward interpretation, and often shifts between portrait and still life genres.
Connections runs until Saturday 28th February.
Gallery Opening Times: Thursday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm
