Location: Hinton Hall, Church Street, Tisbury, Wiltshire SP3 6NH.

Time: 18:00-20:30

Join us for free buffet food and a friendly conversation about renewable energy projects and how they could benefit your community.

You don’t need any existing knowledge, everything will be explained step by step in a clear way.

If you need support to be able to access this workshop, you can fill out this short form to request expenses, for example childcare or travel reimbursement.

What we'll do together

  • Learn about what community energy is.
  • Explore where there is technical potential for renewable energy in your area.
  • Start a conversation about where renewable energy projects could be located and how your community could benefit.

Why it matters

  • Local people have a say in how and where renewable energy projects happen.
  • Keeps benefits from projects in your community.
  • Decisions are made in an informed and transparent way.

What happens next

  • A survey and other community engagement work will give more people a chance to add their thoughts to the conversation.
  • A report will be made showing all the findings from the workshop, survey and other community engagement. This report will be made publicly available and may help to inform future community projects in the area.

If you can't come to this workshop, but would like to receive a survey and information about the workshop outputs, please share your information in this short form and we'll be in touch after the workshop.

About this project

This project helps local people explore and develop renewable energy projects, like wind turbines or solar farms (depending on what is suitable in your area), that bring direct benefits to their communities. It is a partnership project lead by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, working with Wiltshire Council, Nadder Community Energy, Bath and West Community Energy and Zero North Wiltshire Community Energy. It is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme.

This is the map area we will be discussing in the workshop - it covers the parishes of Tisbury, West Tisbury, Fonthill Gifford, and Hindon. People who live, work or study within this area or in the nearby surrounding areas are welcome to come along.
