Comedy Show For Voter Mobilization & Civic Power

Democracy is a lot like stand-up comedy - it only works if people actually show up. But lately, civic participation has been getting ghosted. Voter turnout is slumping, disinformation is running wild, and too many people feel like the political system is an open mic where the same bad jokes keep getting told by the same people in power.

Grassroots Comedy has seen enough. We’re teaming up with Movement Labs Civics for a night of laughter and action that’ll leave you both cracking up and fired up. The show will feature some of the funniest comedians in the Mid-Atlantic, all bringing their best material to help power the movement for a more informed, engaged, and representative democracy.

Movement Labs Civics believes in a world where citizens have access to, and information on how to, vote, and where there is a transparent and accessible system for running for office so that all citizens are heard and represented. One of their current programs, Rapid Recruit, is building a vibrant and strategic mass movement to protect democracy by identifying the most strategic actions in real time and using technology to connect millions of potential activists to these emerging campaigns.
