Jack Skipper

Hailing from South London, Jack Skipper has gone from carpet fitter to comedy sensation. With over 16 million likes on TikTok and 360k Instagram followers, his everyday-guy charm and hilarious takes on working-class life have made him one of the fastest-rising names in British comedy.

A runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny? (2022), Jack has since starred in ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show, supported Michael McIntyre and Russell Kane on tour, and will soon feature on Comedy Central Live.

His debut show Skint sold out at the Pleasance and bagged nominations for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2024, NextUp’s Biggest Award in Comedy, and won Best Debut Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2024.

"So relatable and delivered with such charm that the audience are never not onside…" ★★★★½ ONE4REVIEW
‘"Definitely a name to watch" – ★★★★ Beyond The Joke
"Delivery that commands the room and a no-nonsense outlook that gels into strong punchlines" – Chortle
"He's blessed with innately funny bones, [and] roguish charm" – ★★★★ Festmag
"Instantly accessible, utterly unpretentious and totally relatable." ★★★★ The Standard

James Redmond

James Redmond is a dry, slick, and subtle stand-up with a knack for taking audiences down unexpected paths as he deconstructs the art of comedy itself.

Best known for his acting roles in Hollyoaks, Casualty, and Emmerdale, James first found fame on TV screens before swapping scripts for stand-up. He’s also been a presenter on SM:TV and CD:UK alongside Cat Deeley, and appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Celebrity Come Dine With Me, and Soccer AM.

Since hitting the circuit, he’s performed thousands of gigs across the UK, bringing his understated wit and clever storytelling to comedy clubs, festivals, and charity shows nationwide.

"A very fine comedian, endearing & clever, with a natural talent for engaging the audience" - Broadway Baby
"Quality stuff" – The Scotsman
"Fresh-off-the-telly James Redmond has the makings of a really good comic. His tales of texting, girlfriends and Barry from Bristol are quality stuff." – Kate Copstick for Fringe Magazine

Vlad Ilich

Vlad Ilich is a Macedonian comic based in London whose sharp, self-aware humour has racked up over seven million views online. His mix of smart social observation and dark, playful wit has made him one of the most exciting new voices on the UK circuit.

Winner of The Comedy Store's King of the Gong, he recently appeared on BBC Three’s Stand Up for Live Comedy, was voted One to Watch at Up the Creek, and was crowned British Comedian of the Year 2025.

His material dives into immigration, identity, and the oddities of British life, all delivered with disarming charm and a deadpan grin.

“A confident, gag-packed set.” – British Comedy Guide
“Subtle, dark humour that pokes fun at political realities.” – ★★★★ One4Review
“Smart, goofy and consistently funny.” – The Scotsman

Colin Owens [compere]

Colin Owens is the charming chaos at the heart of Stand Up in the Basement. He’s been gigging across the UK comedy circuit since 2005, known for his dry delivery, laid-back style, and razor-sharp crowd work. Colin’s the glue that holds the night together — setting the tone, warming up the room, and making sure no one gets too comfy in the front row.

He first made waves after winning the Jimmy Carr Comedy Idol Competition, going on to support Carr at Bloomsbury Theatre and perform alongside comics like Frank Skinner, Tim Vine, and Michael McIntyre.

“Brilliant, like a funny neighbour.” — Tim Vine
“I knew he’d be funny and he was.” — Michael McIntyre
